As Government restrictions on international travel to and from Australia and New Zealand remain in place, our International services from and to New Zealand and Trans-Tasman flights are cancelled until at least 16 August 2020.

Impacted customers will be contacted directly to advise them of their options which depending on the circumstances may include a credit voucher or a refund. 

We continue to monitor various travel restrictions and will review our schedule based on demand for international flying as restrictions ease. 

If there are any changes to our schedule, we will update customers directly.

Changes to Jetstar Pacific

Jetstar Pacific (BL) flights will soon be rebranded as Pacific Airlines and bookings will be transitioned to a new reservation system. All customers impacted by this change will be contacted with updated information or details regarding any changes to their booking.

Domestic flights resume in New Zealand

From 1 July 2020, Jetstar resumed part of its domestic flying across New Zealand operating 75 return flights per week across five domestic routes. 
In addition to these five domestic routes for the month of July (listed below), our Wellington to Queenstown services will resume in August, with seven weekly return flights.

Auckland to Christchurch 

Auckland to Dunedin 

Auckland to Wellington

Auckland to Queenstown 

Christchurch to Wellington

Wellington to Queenstown (from 1 August 2020) 

If there are any changes to your flight or your flight is cancelled, we will contact you directly with alternative options.

Jetstar will closely monitor demand, with further domestic flights likely be added to the schedule in coming months.

Depending on the circumstances this may include an alternative flight at no additional charge or a refund if no alternative flight is available within three hours.

One free date change for domestic travel

If you book flights through between 8 and 30 June 2020, we’ll waive the change fee one time if you decide to change the date of your travel. When you’re ready to rebook, you’ll need to cover any Fare Difference in your new booking. This offer applies for travel between 1 July and 31 October 2020 on any Jetstar Airways (JQ) domestic flights within New Zealand. If you have both a domestic and international flight on your itinerary, a Change Fee will apply.

Greater flexibility when using credit vouchers

Following customer feedback, we’ve recently improved our travel vouchers. From Monday 15 June, new and existing unused travel vouchers issued due to COVID-19 impact on travel by Jetstar Airways (JQ), Jetstar Asia (3K) and Jetstar Japan (GK), will become multi-use vouchers.

These multi-use vouchers can be used across multiple bookings, where any outstanding credit can be used towards another. Customers can check on their credit by visiting the voucher balance portal.

All other credit vouchers issued for reasons not listed above will be single use only. Customers should refer to the full Terms and Conditions.

We also recently extended our voucher expiry dates, giving customers 12 months to redeem a voucher and book any available flight.

Our flights are generally made available around 12 months in advance, so customers will have about two years to travel. As per the existing arrangements, Jetstar customers will need to pay any Fare Difference if the new bookings cost more than the value of their travel voucher.
